We have spoken with Dodson and there is very little that can be done to prevent stink bugs! They recommend using an insecticide to kill the ones that make it into your home, but keeping new ones from entering is almost impossible. If the bugs in your townhome look like the ones on this webpage, there isn’t a lot to be done. Time is the only cure for these little stinkers!

Rent vs. Buy
How many of you have said, "I can't afford not to buy with these low interest rates?"
As a financial choice by consumers, home ownership is not always what it is cracked up to be. Calculating the full after-tax cost of homeownership is complicated. Most analyses ignore important expenses that are borne by owners but not by renters. When all costs are considered in an apples-to-apples comparison of the costs of owning and renting, the historical experience suggests that close to half of all home buyers would save money by renting comparable housing. One reason for this perhaps surprising fact is that many home buyers move within a few years of buying, and the transactions costs of buying and selling a house are especially burdensome if they are not spread over a long period of residency. Similarly, the investment value of homeownership often is overrated. It depends on both time and place. In recent years the stock market has increased much more rapidly than have house prices. Too many homebuyers put all their investment eggs in the single basket of homeownership. Lastly, the tax advantages to owning a home are minimal. Every person who rents is already getting a standard deduction that is in many cases is the same or similar to the deductions a homeowner will claim who itemizes their deductions. It’s important to get the facts before making the decision to purchase!
